Learning Management Systems - LMS - Meridian

Testimonials

We've capitalized on the flexibility of the system's architecture in a way that allows our state agencies to think of themselves as running a unique LMS.  For example, the Department of Corrections doesn't have to tell its workers to log onto the HRSD for training; they just ponit people to the Corrections' LMS.

With the increased emphasis on workforce development and training, the academy developed the professional development program (PDP).  Its a set of web-based tools that empowers all employees to plan for a successful career in the command.

The command's supervisors have enthusiastically embraced the professional development program (PDP) because it provides multiple resources to assist in grooming our employees for new jobs or more responsibility.

When you have hundreds of thousands of emloyees, all of these challenges grow in complexity.  It's not enough to just automate the purchase and delivery of learning in a coordinated way; although that can spell savings.  Virginia's goal was to create a singular approach to sharing knowledge and developing employee's careers.
Belchior Mira, Chief Information Technology Officer for the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management

If you calculate what it costs to chase people for training, compensate instructors and pay for courses and classroom space then, there's no question we've saved Michigan educators time and money while improving their skills.
David Myers, Executive Director

We provided product training with our LMS which was linked to tests and ultimately a sales person's incentives.  The LMS trained people to ask themselves if they were making the appropriate fit between product and buyer.  When they do that, they sell more appropriately and that helps them hit their sales incentives.
Deb Suhadolnik, Director of Organizational Effectiveness for Land O'Lakes

Meridian's response [to our RFI] was almost too good to be true.  It was well-written and thoughtful.  We thought Meridian's LMS demo couldn't possibly match its proposal.  I've seen a lot of LMS demos and a lot of vaporware, but Meridian's demo was exceptional; they gave us thoughtful, truthful answers to every question.  We even handed Meridian a flash drive with a short SCORM course on it.  The sales team loaded it on the spot and ran a course.  When we asked one of Meridian's competitors to do the same, they said, Hand that course to us on a CD two days before the demo and we'll have it uploaded for you.  When our nine person selection team ranked each LMS, everyone had a different pick for second, third and fourth place product but Meridian was voted number one by a unanimous decision.

We don't have the luxury of IT support, so having Meridian host our LMS off-site made perfect sense.

The Meridian LMS extends the reach of our traditional classes by giving our clients access to financial education that they can take on their time.  We also created a family interaction guide via the Meridian LMS to teach sound financial skills.  Within the budgeting module of the family interaction guide, parents, who are clients of MMI can work with their children to build a family budget.  Young children can learn about counting money and high schoolers can learn about banking basics and credit reports.
Amy Lins, Director of Instructional Design for Money Management International

Eighty percent of our instructors are now using the LMS to automate and manage attendance.  We have over 200 instructors in the LMS at this point and we trained them to use the learning management system through monetary incentives, training courses, WebEx sessions, conference calls and in-person coaching, all in a positive way.  Given the right incentive we think they'll use online collaboration.

When it comes to customer service, Meridian's got it covered.  Each client project is assigned both a project manager and a customer care representative who remain with the client throughout the life of the implementation and beyond.  Unlike many other companies, Meridian has a very low turnover rate, which allows for a much more intimate vendor-client relationship.  I'm certain this is one of the reasons for its many customer service related awards.

The LMS has allowed us to get more training, in a structured way, to employees.  We can use a variety of training delivery systems now, too, which means the content we develop is more engaging; we're no longer relying on static images to instruct our workers on how best to advise customers or work with owner's pets.
