Learning Management System (LMS) - Meridian

Fusion Productions and Meridian Knowledge Solutions Forge Partnership to Train Professional and Trade Associations

Webster, N.Y. and Chantilly, Va. - April 5, 2010 - Fusion Productions signed a strategic agreement with Meridian Knowledge Solutions to bring the Virginia-based software maker's award-winning1 learning-management system (LMS) to America's nearly 100,000 professional, trade and non-profit groups. Both companies see fertile ground in providing Fusion's professional development and e-learning services with Meridian's learning management system (LMS) to the nation's associations.

Fusion's experience working with trade and professional associations ranges from producing industry-wide meetings and events to developing professional online learning and educational portals. Fusion pioneered online education research for associations when in 1999, through the ASAE Foundation, the firm published "Online Learning Strategies: Association Models for Success."

Before striking an agreement with Fusion, Meridian had already achieved success selling its flagship product, the Meridian Global LMS, to an array of trade groups including ones serving teachers, healthcare workers, the automotive industry and professional associations.

"Our two firms know the professional development needs of associations and non-profits," said Roy Haythorn, executive vice president of operations for Meridian. "Among other things, associations look to learning and development as a way to deliver value to members in supporting the need for certification, continuing education and licensure."

Donald Dea, co-founder of Fusion Productions, added, "We conducted extensive due diligence in qualifying Meridian's platform, organization, and product road map to bring forward an enterprise platform that is geared to solving the learning portal needs of associations."

Meridian's learning portal for associations mirrors the "unique processes, integration, and interface considerations of associations and non-profit organizations," said Dea. The Meridian portal supports members by tracking continuing education, managing competencies and delivering professional development courses. The portal will help an association brand itself and ensure its members comply with continuing education, certifications and regulatory considerations. The portal will also enable users to obtain the education and knowledge they need to support their professional and business needs at the moment they need it.
One of the first places Fusion and Meridian will promote the new alliance is at Fusion's DigitalNow conference, which takes place from April 7 - 10, 2010. Trade groups of all kinds know DigitalNow as an annual gathering for the industry's top executives.
