Learning Management System (LMS) - Meridian
KESDEE Helps Meridian Grow Virtual Library to close to 18,000 courses
Chantilly, Va. - May 13, 2010 - Meridian Knowledge Solutions, LLC signed an agreement with financial e-learning company KESDEE, Inc. that increases the size of Meridian's e-learning library to approximately 18,000 courses. With the KESDEE deal, Meridian's "Virtual Library" adds e-learning courses on topics such as accounting, banking, finance, insurance and risk management.
Meridian, which makes learning management systems (LMS) for delivering and analyzing training via the Internet, began building its Virtual Library in 2008 by signing a string of agreements with a select group of providers of training content and online assessments.
San Diego-based KESDEE's online catalog contains approximately 1,000 courses, which include interactive simulations that mirror what learners will actually encounter on the job. KESDEE's approach to developing e-learning courses was instrumental in winning multi-year professional development projects with the U.S. Federal Reserve System.
"Any employer looking to educate its employees about financial concepts and government regulations would find KESDEE's e-learning content a perfect fit," said Roy Haythorn, executive vice president of operations for Meridian. "Banks as well as large accounting and consulting firms will appreciate the mix of practical examples and scenarios within each of KESDEE's e-learning courses."
Before signing its agreement with KESDEE, Meridian tested the San Diego-based company's content on Meridian's LMS to ensure that the e-learning courses operated smoothly.
"The KESDEE-Meridian partnership brings employers seamless integration of best-of-breed content and technology; we're giving buyers the best of both worlds, without multiple contracts," said S.L. (Sam) Srinivasulu, Ph.D., co-founder and chairman of KESDEE, Inc.
"With KESDEE's content now a part of our Virtual Library, we can offer one of the widest and deepest assortments of e-learning content and assessments anywhere," added Haythorn.
Each course Meridian offers through its Virtual Library will run on either the company's flagship product (i.e., the Meridian Global LMS) or the software-as-a-service (SaaS) version of Meridian's LMS. The courses conform to the latest e-learning standards, including SCORM 2004. And the library contains courses in more than 15 languages. Businesses, non-profits and government agencies can visit the Meridian web site or call a Meridian content expert, buy the courses they need and begin delivering training via their Meridian LMS in a few hours.
"We're making sure our clients can find courses for their employees or customers, and buy these courses as they need them," said Haythorn. "KESDEE is helping us achieve our goal of providing customers with one-stop shopping, whether that means giving clients the widest selection of courses or simply a single, targeted course."
To help customers get started, a Meridian content expert will assess a client's training needs and help them select the courses to meet their requirements. Customers can learn more by visiting http://www.meridianksi.com/courseware/library/ .
